CASIN

The China-Africa Shanghai International Network (CASIN) serves as a local branch of the Chinese in Africa/Africans in China Research Network (CA/AC). Established in 2007, CA/AC is the world’s largest independent and interdisciplinary research network dedicated to China-Africa engagement. It aims to foster a global dialogue on China-Africa relations in a critical yet constructive manner and to build a transnational community of scholars and practitioners grounded in dialogue, equity, and inclusivity. Today, the network brings together more than 1,000 members worldwide, spanning academia, diplomacy, media and communications, the arts and humanities, and international development.
CASIN’s mission is to promote research and public understanding of China-Africa relations within the Shanghai community. It seeks to provide a platform for dialogue and exchange between two key groups: African students and professionals living and working in the Yangtze River Delta, and Chinese scholars and professionals engaged in Africa-related work.
